About Prophecy Red Blend

Prophecy Red Blend showcases fruit from two of the best growing regions in the US, Washington and California. This is an exceptional blend that unites the two regions into a single, harmonious wine. Layers of raspberry, plum and black cherry blend seamlessly with hints of pomegranate, butterscotch, toast and chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Viticulture & Winemaking Notes

Grape Selection: The Prophecy Red Blend is an intriguing combination of grapes from two West Coast states. The base of the blend (63%) is sourced from Washington’s leading growing regions in the Columbia Valley, leading with Yakima Valley, Horse Heaven Hills and Yakima Valley. The balance (37%) is sourced from one of California’s premier red wine regions, Lodi. The result is a truly unique and distinctive Red Blend with trademark acidity from Washington and notes of ripe fruit, balance and full body from California.

Varietal Content: 46% Merlot, 25% Zinfandel, 12% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Malbec

Fermentation: The varieties were harvested and fermented individually in stainless steel tanks. Warm ferments were encouraged to maximize the ripe and jammy California Zinfandel profile. The Washington Merlot and Syrah lots were kept separate for fermentation, but blended early, allowing texture and fruit characteristics to harmonize.

Aging & Oak Character: Aging on American and French oak complements the blend’s fruit with hints of caramel, bittersweet chocolate and butterscotch.
