Cabernet Sauvignon

California, 2019

VARIETAL & REGION

The grapes that went into the 2019 vintage of Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon primarily come from Red Hills Lake County – a California AVA that lies about an hour north of Calistoga in Napa Valley. There, vineyards fan out on hillsides of an extinguished volcano and climb to over 2,000 feet above sea level. The elevation slows ripening in the otherwise hot and dry climate, resulting in balanced acids
and sugars. Some Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley in California’s Sonoma County is also blended in to further enhance the wine’s flavors and texture. Alexander Valley is famous for its sunny skies and deep gravelly soils which create optimal conditions for ripening the thick-skinned berries of Cabernet Sauvignon.

ABOUT THE WINE

Like all of our Iron Side wines, this Cabernet was handcrafted by our talented winemaking team in Healdsburg, California. This team is led by Master Winemaker Ed Killian, who has been crafting award-winning wines in California for three decades.

TASTING NOTES

Deep ruby in color with aromas of cedar and blackberry on the nose. Full-bodied yet smooth and easy-drinking, the wine showcases bright red cherry, hints of spice, smoke and a long, toasty finish.
