Lot 164 Pinot Noir California

This Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard in the Sebastopol Hills, the most southerly region in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley. A mere 10 miles from the Pacific, cool ocean breezes protect the vines from the intense heat of the California summer sun. Each day, early morning fog blankets hillside vines growing in sandy loam soils known as “Goldridge.” This combination of cooler temperatures, gentle slopes and loosely textured soil produced Pinot Noir with intense aromas, a lively touch and an exhilarating finish.

Tasting Notes

Medium ruby in color featuring ripe raspberry, cherry and strawberry aromas alongside savory earth, gentle smoke and fresh violet. The wine carries significant weight for a Pinot Noir but this is balanced by abundant fruit along with nervy acidity. The finish is a long mixture of fruit, earth and spice. You can drink now, but this wine should also improve with some bottle age.
